Customizing Content

My Content

One cool feature of this website is that you can save items that interest you - you can 'Favorite' the ones you like and 'Read Later' the articles which you think are interesting, and you don't want to try and find again at a later time. As there is so much information on this site, this is a useful feature to put all you favorite ones in one place.

Every article on the site has orange 'Add to Favorites' and 'Read Later buttons' as on the top of this page. When you press the 'Add to Favorites' button, this article will appear in your 'My Content' page under 'My Favorites' list, and the button will turn green to show you that it already has been selected. When you press the 'Read Later' button, this article will appear in your 'My Content' page under 'My Saved Articles', and the button will turn blue to show you that it already has been selected. A message will appear to confirm it has been saved.

On the top of the screen beside your logon and 'My Profile' is a 'My Content' Link. This is where all the articles you have chosen will appear.

My Favorites

The My Favorite list is for articles you wish to refer to often. This will be specifically useful to save your favorite self defense techniques. Since there are so many included in this site, you will not want to keep looking through the entire list looking for a particular one you really liked. As you come across an article or technique that you like, Favorite it so you will keep it on your list. You can remove items on this list either my selecting the tick-box beside it and press the orange Delete button, or when you are in the article, press again the Favorites button and it will deselect and turn back orange.

My Saved Articles

The Read Later button is for exactly that - you don't have enough time now to read through something fully, or you are in the middle of studying a particular article and you don't want to forget where you are up to. For these, save the article in 'Read Later'. Once read, you can either remove from the list or transfer to the 'Favorites' list if you are going to refer back to it often. You can remove items on this list either my selecting the tick-box beside it and press the orange Delete button, or when you are in the article, press again the Read Later button and it will deselect and turn back orange.
