Legs are a good target for several reasons:
1.They are unguarded unlike the torso and head
2. They are a low target so does not require you to raise your kicks any further than required
3. Damage to the legs means reduction in the opponent’s mobility, so they cannot move in a fast and use their arms.
4. Damage to the opponent s legs means they will not be able to use them effectively as weapons.
Any joint that is struck will make it more difficult to operate that limb. Common strikes include any kicks with the ball or heel, and will prevent the opponent from stepping forward on the leg.
