You will have noticed by now that the majority of the movements have the hands rotating throughout the execution. This is not just the blocking or striking hand, but applies to both hands - retracting and extending. Understanding the uses of the rotation greatly improves your effectiveness.

Hands parallel and palms opposite directions
As rear hand punches and twists, forward hand retracts and twists
Both hands remain parallel throughout the movement
Hands finish opposite to where they started
