The senior instructor, Barry Kleine, has been training and teaching both Martial Arts and General, Women’s and Children Self Defense for over 30 years. Barry gained his third degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do before expanding his learnings over other arts, and then combining them into an easier method for learning self-defense. With Barry’s experience as a mechanical engineer, he has been able to analyze the movements to great detail to ensure they are being done the most efficiently, and his experience with developing documentation and training material has meant the explanations are methodical, indepth, focused and self-explanatory.
As with most Martial Arts Instructors, Barry is driven by a passion to learn and share information. To him, Self Defense is an Art - not only giving the ability to protect himself and his loved ones, but equally it is the application of human creative skill and imagination to produce works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. The process of learning is greater than just learning to protect yourself - it is the creation of new ways to do things, to not only grow the mind, but share the growth with everyone.
Barry's drive for this website is not just to show self defense moves, but to make this the most comprehensive and in-depth website available, sharing information and helping create the passion, challenge, learning and enjoyment that drives him.
